St Petersburg will be hosting a World Stamp Exhibition in June 2007, under the patronage of FIP, and I am sure the organisers will give their best to make it a wonderful exhibition the philatelic world will always remember.

As President of the "Federation Internationale de Philatelie" I look forward to this exhibition in a country that has many eminent and active philatelists and where philately is an important part of the cultural world. I congratulate and thank the organisers of this event for their commitment and it will be a pleasure to meet the whole philatelic world, the collectors, exhibitors, jurors, commissioners, postal administrations, dealers and visitors, in St Petersburg, where they will all contribute to the success of the exhibition. As in all World Stamp Exhibitions there will be very interesting and fruitful philatelic and amicable exchanges in St Petersburg. World Exhibitions are models of international cooperation and show the power of philately to bring people of all nations, races, religions and convictions together.
